Ion exchange resin, strong base anion — Type I, gel

Manufacturer: Pure Resin

Pure PA101 is a Type I gel strong base anion exchange resin that combines high operating capacity with low residual silica. It is supplied as spherical beads in the chloride form and is also available in the OH⁻ form. It is meant for regeneration-efficient demineralisation including silica removal, for all types of deionisation systems and chemical processing. It is especially suited to mixed bed and layered bed demineralisers.

Hydraulic properties

Pressure drop
Pressure dropExpected pressure loss per foot of bed depth as a function of flow rate, at various temperatures.
Backwash
BackwashAfter each cycle the bed is backwashed at a rate that expands it by 50 to 75%. This removes foreign matter and reclassifies the bed. The graph shows the bed expansion in % for PA101 in the Cl⁻ form.
  • The graphs use the manufacturer's units: 1 gpm/sq.ft ≈ 2.44 m/h, 1 psi/ft ≈ 0.23 bar/m, 40 °F ≈ 4 °C, 60 °F ≈ 16 °C, 80 °F ≈ 27 °C, 90 °F ≈ 32 °C, 100 °F ≈ 38 °C.
