ABOUT THE SERVICE

What is water softening?

Water softening is a chemical or physical process that removes the minerals calcium and magnesium, which are responsible for its hardness.

When these minerals build up they form the familiar limescale, which damages household appliances, pipework and surfaces.

The main softening methods

01Most popular

Ion exchange

The water passes through a special ion-exchange resin. It captures the calcium and magnesium ions and replaces them with sodium ions. When the resin is saturated, the system automatically flushes with a salt solution to regenerate.

02

Polyphosphate dosing

Special dosing pumps or filters add polyphosphates to the water. They do not physically remove the minerals, but they block their ability to crystallise and form limescale.

03

Electromagnetic methods

Magnetic fields are used to change the structure of the calcium crystals so that they do not stick to the pipes.

Key benefits of softened water

Appliance protection

Stops limescale building up in water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers and coffee machines, extending their life and lowering your electricity bills.

Savings on consumables

Soaps, shampoos and detergents lather far more easily, cutting how much you use by up to 50%.

Kinder to your body

Hard water dries out skin and hair, whereas softened water reduces irritation and leaves them softer.

Easier cleaning

The stubborn white limescale marks on sinks, taps, tiles and shower enclosures disappear.

HOW WE WORK

From water analysis to installation and maintenance — the full service cycle

01

Consultation

We analyse the quality of your water and discuss the specific problems — hardness, iron, manganese or other contaminants.

02

Water sample and analysis

We take a water sample for laboratory analysis. The results determine exactly which type of treatment system you need.

03

An individual solution

We design a bespoke water treatment system suited to your needs, your flow rate and the particulars of your water source.

04

Equipment delivery

We deliver every component — filters, softeners and reverse osmosis systems — straight to your site.

05

Professional installation

Installation by qualified specialists. Connection of the system to the mains and configuration of the parameters.

06

Maintenance and servicing

Periodic replacement of filters and consumables, checks on effectiveness and maintaining optimal water quality.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about water softening and treatment.

What is water softening?

Softening is a chemical or physical process that removes the calcium and magnesium minerals responsible for the water's hardness. This prevents the formation of limescale, which damages household appliances, pipework and surfaces.

What softening methods are there?

The most common is ion exchange — the water passes through an ion-exchange resin that replaces calcium and magnesium with sodium. Polyphosphate dosing, which blocks the minerals from crystallising, and electromagnetic methods are also used.

How effective is reverse osmosis?

Reverse osmosis effectively removes up to 99% of dissolved substances and up to 98% of the organic compounds in the water.

How often should the filters be replaced?

It depends on the filter type and the water quality. Mechanical filters every 3-6 months, carbon filters every 6-12 months, and reverse osmosis membranes every 2-3 years.

How much does a water treatment system cost?

The price depends on the type and complexity of the system. Get in touch for an individual quote tailored to the particular parameters of your water and your needs.

Do you offer a warranty and servicing?

Yes, all systems come with a full warranty. We also offer annual maintenance contracts covering filter replacement and a check of the system's effectiveness.
